About This Project

At Koala, we partnered with McCann Erikson and Barclays Business Banking to create a compelling video case study that showcases how Barclays supports UK entrepreneurs through real, tangible change. The film follows Ray Youngs, a driven business owner relocating his company from Cheshire to Ilfracombe, a major transition that reflects the challenges and opportunities faced by growing businesses. Our objective was to craft a narrative led video that felt personal, grounded, and inspiring for other SMEs considering their next move.

Working alongside McCann, our production team captured live action footage at both Ray’s original base in Cheshire and his new premises in coastal Ilfracombe. We shot on location to give the story visual authenticity and depth, combining documentary style b-roll with a powerful interview led narrative. Through candid sound bites and observational footage, Ray shares his motivations, fears, and the practical steps involved in relocating, with Barclays business lending support playing a key role throughout the process.

The finished film delivers a rich, character led story that speaks directly to Barclays’ SME audience. By focusing on Ray’s real experiences and showing the highs and lows of the transition, we created a story that is emotionally resonant and strategically on brand. It highlights Barclays not just as a lender, but as an enabler of growth, adaptability, and long term vision—essential themes for today’s business community.

Now live across Barclays’ digital channels, social media platforms, and B2B campaigns, this case study is a standout example of Koala’s ability to produce high impact branded video content for the financial services sector. Our work with McCann Erikson ensured every element aligned with campaign strategy, while our creative team brought the story to life through thoughtful direction and production.
