About This Project

Koala produced a gripping TV commercial for the release of 24th Hour, the latest installment in James Patterson’s bestselling Women’s Murder Club series, published by Penguin Random House. Designed to generate anticipation and drive preorders for one of the biggest names in crime fiction, the commercial captured the high stakes energy and psychological tension that Patterson fans know and love. Built to perform across television, YouTube prerolls and social media, the spot helped position 24th Hour as an unmissable chapter in the series.

The creative approach took visual cues from cinematic thrillers, blending moody lighting, suspenseful pacing and sharp editing to evoke the tone of the novel. The TV ad leaned into key themes from the book such as trust, betrayal and danger without revealing spoilers. With flashes of cityscapes, close up character visuals and atmospheric effects, the spot invited viewers to step back into the world of the Women’s Murder Club and asked a single chilling question. What happens when the hunter becomes the hunted.

Designed to intrigue both loyal fans and new readers, the commercial used high impact visuals and punchy voiceover to communicate urgency and suspense. The final call to action encouraged immediate preorder or purchase, supporting major online retailers and high street bookshops. With crisp motion graphics and best in class production values, the ad elevated the book launch into a moment that felt more like a film premiere than a publication date.

The campaign was rolled out in the lead up to release and strategically placed across targeted TV and digital media channels. It performed particularly well in reaching book lovers aged 25 to 55 and fans of crime and thriller genres. The commercial boosted awareness across platforms, reinforced Patterson’s position as a master storyteller and helped 24th Hour make a powerful first impression at launch.

This project is a strong example of Koala’s expertise in TV commercial production for publishing and entertainment brands. From concept to delivery, we created a campaign that brought the tension, pacing and style of the novel to life on screen.
