About This Project

For the launch of Good Material by Dolly Alderton, we collaborated with Penguin Random House to create a TV commercial and digital campaign that mirrored the sharp wit and relatable charm of the novel. Our creative direction was deeply rooted in a 90s retro aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the specific era the book explores to ensure the visuals felt authentic to the narrative. We managed the entire production process, delivering a cheeky and engaging campaign that resonated with Dolly Alderton’s extensive and dedicated audience.

The project utilised a playful blend of 90s inspired animation and bold typography to bring the book’s themes of modern heartbreak and humour to life. By leaning into a nostalgic 1990s feel, we developed a 30 second TVC that stood out through its vibrant visual identity and rhythmic editing. This stylistic choice was carried across all assets, ensuring a cohesive look and feel for owned online channels and high impact social media content. Our team also oversaw the Clearcast clearance process, ensuring all broadcast standards were met for a smooth national television rollout.

This campaign highlights our ability to combine sophisticated animation production with strategic typography to tell a compelling brand story. We provided a full service solution that spanned from initial concept and storyboard design to final delivery across TV and digital platforms. By capturing the distinct, cheeky tone of the source material, we helped Penguin Random House create a memorable and shareable campaign that successfully drove excitement for one of the year’s most anticipated literary releases.
